THE SEARCH FUNCTION

Long before the Frequency Generator, the Words Table, or even the 64 Angels website, Lara + I kept our content organized within a simple Google Doc we learned to reference frequently throughout the course of any given day. It happened very often that a single word or phrase would come to mind which we would then become inspired to explore. Our first step in each case was to return to the first instance of the term. We managed this by searching for it in our Google Doc using a simple ‘Find in Document’ command. Of course, when we began developing our website, we expected to enjoy the same convenience - but soon came to find that it did not exist! Neither tech support nor my extensive research could resolve this. We even purchased several different widgets to compare. Not one of them produced the simple function we were fervently attempting to deploy. In time, we chose to quietly surrender on the subject altogether. We reverted to our simple Google Doc for searching content, and relinquished every effort to extend the same convenience to the world.
Fast-forward now to 2025. We learn that we can partner with AI for writing code! This rapidly inspires a fresh list of features we would love to build. A functional search option finds its way onto the list, but waits till last. (I privately assume that, since no one has managed yet to solve this riddle, it is likely to eclipse my infant skill.) We build a half-a-dozen other custom features before inspiration overtakes my doubt. I wake early on the 5th day of November (2025) aware that this will be a very special day. Immediately after breakfast: we begin. By midday, the entire project is complete: delivering a more impressive resource than we ever had the vision to predict.
